Michael Vick is Back…
Looks like Michael Vick is back to making money. Philadelphia Eagles have offered the quarterback a deal he can’t refuse. Yesterday, Vick signed a 6 year deal worth $100 million, making him one of the highest paid players in the NFL. It’s been a long road to redemption and 100 mill says he’s redeemed to me. Last week Vick had his head in the game with a 24-14 win over the Cleveland Browns. The Eagles will take to the MetLife Stadium on Thursday (September 1st) to play the New York Jets. I’m on the Eagles side for this one since Vick now has something to celebrate on and off the field.
Saturday Night Violence
By now I’m sure you have already heard of the acts of violence that occurred over the weekend at the preseason game between the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers. During the game a few rowdy fans began a brawl in the stands, one man was beaten up and left unconscious in the restroom, and one man was shot in the stomach out in the parking lot (talk about clash of the fans). In response to such events no tailgating after the kickoff will be enforced, as well as implementing DUI checkpoints and beefing up on security. The drama during and after the game overshadowed the 49ers (17-3) win over the Raiders. The 49ers will return to Candlestick Park this coming Saturday to take the field against the Houston Texans. Let’s hope the fan drama won’t affect their attempt to win this game.
